Learn how to map more of the picture
Health Story Mapping Labs use guided case examples to help you practice noticing patterns, organizing experiences over time, and identifying details that may be easy to overlook in complex health stories.
You do not need to understand everything before participating. The Labs are designed to help you practice working with health stories in a structured, observation-based way.
How Mapping Labs work
Each Mapping Lab focuses on a fictionalized case example built around changing symptoms, shifting patterns, life context, adaptations, and experiences unfolding over time.
During the session, we work through the story together and practice identifying:
- what details belong in different parts of the workspace
- where patterns begin to emerge
- what information may be missing
- what questions may help uncover more of the picture
- how experiences can change across time and context
The purpose is not diagnosis or interpretation. The focus is learning how to notice, organize, and describe complex health experiences more clearly.
Current Lab Series
The current series includes four Mapping Labs. Each one focuses on a different kind of complex health story and includes a case worksheet you can use during the live session.
Lab 01
Multi-system flare patterns
Practice organizing a story where symptoms shift across multiple body systems over time, making patterns harder to recognize and describe clearly.
Lab 02
Pain and adaptation
Practice noticing changes over time, hidden adaptations, and story details that may be easy to miss.
Lab 03
Exhaustion and recovery patterns
Practice identifying recurring cycles of energy, stress, recovery, and overload across changing life circumstances.
Lab 04
Invisible stress load
Practice organizing a story where symptoms shift after periods of high stress and changing life demands.
What participation looks like
You can participate in different ways depending on your comfort level and energy. The goal is to practice noticing and organizing, not to perform or share more than you want to share.
You can participate quietly
You may listen, follow along with the worksheet, use chat instead of speaking, or participate only when you feel ready.
You do not need to share personal details
The Labs use case examples so you can practice with structured material without needing to disclose your own health history.
Camera use is optional. You are welcome to engage through listening, chat, worksheet notes, or discussion.
Participation boundary
Health Story Mapping Labs are educational sessions focused on learning how to organize and work with complex health stories using the Health Story Lab framework. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment guidance, therapy, or individual health consultation.
The focus is on observation, organization, and pattern recognition — not determining what someone “has” or what they should do medically.
