Learn how to use your workspace
Prototype Workspace brings together setup recordings, guided walkthroughs, live support sessions, and practical resources to help you begin using the Health Story Lab prototype with more confidence.
You do not need to understand the whole system before you begin. This space is here to help you get started, find your way around the workspace, and continue learning as you use the system over time.
Watch the setup walkthrough
This recording covers the same setup process as the live Prototype Setup Session, but in a self-paced format without live participation. You can use it instead of attending live, or return to it anytime while setting up your workspace.
Embed setup walkthrough video here.
What live setup session covers
The live session is a guided walkthrough for people who want support getting started. It is practical, low-pressure, and focused on using the prototype.
01
Copy the template
Learn how to open the template, duplicate it into your Notion workspace, and find your own copy afterward.
02
Find your way around
Review the dashboard, main modules, and basic navigation so the system feels less unfamiliar.
03
Start with context
Learn why the Client Profile matters and how it helps place symptoms and episodes in a broader health context.
Current live dates and access links are posted on the Health Story Circles page.
Setup guide
Use this guide if you want written steps in addition to or instead of the video. You can move through the sections in order, or open only the part you need.
The Health Story Lab Prototype is delivered as a Notion template that you duplicate into your own workspace. Once copied, you will be working inside your own private version of the system.
To get started, you will need a free Notion account and access to the prototype template link.
To access the Health Story Lab prototype and create your own copy inside Notion, visit the Prototype Setup page.
That page includes:
- the prototype template link
- instructions for duplicating the template
- how to open your workspace inside Notion
If the setup process still feels unclear after reviewing those steps, you can return here to watch the walkthrough recording or attend a live Prototype Workspace session for additional guidance and support.
Open the main page of your copy and locate the Dashboard.
This is your central navigation point.
From here, you can access all modules, including:
- Client Profile
- Symptoms
- Episodes
- Interventions
- and more

Most modules follow the same pattern:
Summary → view and explore your entries
Add New → enter new information
Some sections, such as Client Profile, are structured differently based on how they are used.
Use the Dashboard to navigate between modules and open the appropriate view for each section.
If you’ve opened Notion but don’t see your system:
- Check your sidebar for a page titled Health Story Lab™ Prototype
- Make sure you duplicated the template into the correct workspace
- Try searching in Notion for “Health Story Lab™ Prototype”
If you still can’t locate it, revisit the template link and duplicate again.
Once your setup is complete:
- Open your copy in Notion
- Begin entering information starting with the Client Profile or Symptoms
If you run into issues or have questions:
- Visit the support page
- Or contact us directly
Important notes
Use the dashboard for navigation
Use the dashboard to access modules instead of editing backend tables directly. The dashboard is designed to make the system easier to use.
Do not modify the system area
You may see a section labeled System (Do Not Edit). This area powers how the template works. Changing it may break parts of the system.
Your copy is private to your Notion workspace
Your entries are stored in your own copy of the system inside Notion, not in a shared Health Story Lab database.
You can with what feel right for youl
You do not need to enter everything at once. Many people begin with the Client Profile, one symptom, or one episode.
Participation boundary
Live Prototype Setup Sessions are for practical support with accessing, navigating, and beginning to use the Health Story Lab workspace. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment guidance, therapy, or individual health consultation.
