The Client Profile module holds the background information that stays relatively stable over time.
Unlike most other modules, this section is usually completed once and then updated only when something important changes.
It is designed to provide context for the rest of the system. Information entered here can help make later entries easier to understand, especially when looking at patterns over time.
The Client Profile module has two parts:
- Your Profile Details
- Body History & Long-Term Health

Your Profile Details
This section contains broad background information about you and your body.
It is intended to capture context that is usually ongoing rather than temporary.
Examples include:
- Age range
- General activity level
- Sleep pattern
- Current stress context
- Environmental factors
- General health themes
- Menstrual or menopausal context
This section is not intended to capture detailed events, symptom changes, or temporary situations.
For example:
- A general pattern of poor sleep belongs here
- A specific week of disrupted sleep belongs in an Episode
- A long-term pattern of work stress belongs here
- A stressful move, illness, loss, or travel period belongs in Situations & Circumstances

What belongs here
Use this section for information that is:
- Usually true most of the time
- Helpful for understanding your overall context
- Unlikely to change often
- Broad rather than detailed
Examples:
- “Mostly sedentary”
- “Wakes often”
- “Energy / fatigue”
- “Dry air or low humidity”
- “Menopausal transition (late)”
What does not belong here
The following usually belong elsewhere:
- Specific symptoms or body sensations → Symptoms
- A short-term flare, illness, or change → Episodes
- A stressful life event, move, travel, new job, or major life change → Situations & Circumstances
- Treatments, supplements, diet changes, or therapies → Interventions
Screen sections you will see
Client name and preferred name
At the top of the form, you can enter:
- Your name (optional)
- What you would like to be called inside the system
This can be the same name or a different name.
Background context sections
The rest of the profile form is divided into several sections.
Most sections use simple choices that can be selected.
Some sections allow one choice only, such as:
- Age range
- Usual activity level
- Menstrual / menopausal context
Other sections allow more than one choice because more than one thing may be true at the same time.
For example, under General Sleep Pattern, someone might select both:
- Difficulty falling asleep
- Wakes often
The sections include:
- Age range
- Sex assigned at birth
- Gender identity
- Usual activity level
- General sleep pattern
- Current stress context
- Environmental factors
- Menstrual / menopausal context
- General health themes
Important notes
- Most fields in this section are optional.
- It is fine to leave something blank if you are unsure.
- The goal is not to be perfectly accurate. The goal is to create enough context to help later entries make more sense.
- If something changes over time, you can return and update this section later.
Body History & Long-Term Health
This section is for important parts of your body history that may continue to matter over time.
Unlike the profile details above, this area is meant for individual entries.
Examples include:
- A long-term health condition
- A surgery or organ change
- A genetic trait
- A pregnancy or birth history
- Another significant body-related event
These entries remain separate so they can be reviewed individually later.

What belongs here
Examples of entries that fit well here:
- A thyroid condition
- Gallbladder removal
- Hysterectomy
- A connective tissue condition
- A genetic variant
- A significant birth or pregnancy history
- A major infection or injury that changed how your body functions long-term
What does not belong here
The following usually belong elsewhere:
- Day-to-day symptoms → Symptoms
- Short-term illnesses or temporary flares → Episodes
- Situations that may affect your body but are not part of your longer-term history → Situations & Circumstances
- Medications, supplements, treatments, or therapies → Interventions or Medications & Supplements
The entry types you will see
This module includes several different entry types.
You may see options such as:
- Condition
- Organ Change
- Genetic Trait
- Pregnancy / Birth
- Other Event (use this when you are not sure how to label something)
These entry types are used to show only the questions that are relevant to that type of history.
For example:
- An Organ Change entry may include questions about surgery, body part, or timing
- A Pregnancy / Birth entry may include reproductive history questions
- A Genetic Trait entry may include family history or test details
This keeps each entry shorter and easier to understand.
You can describe it in your own words first and refine it later if needed.

Why this section looks different
Most modules use the same pattern throughout.
This section is slightly different because different kinds of body history need different kinds of questions.
Rather than showing every possible question all at once, the system first asks what type of entry you are creating and then shows only the fields that are relevant.
This helps reduce clutter and avoid showing questions that do not apply.
For example, someone entering an organ surgery would not need to see questions related to pregnancy history.
You may find it helpful to continue with Concerns next.
Concerns is where you can describe the main questions, problems, or patterns you want to understand.
